Liz Bouck led off the game with a slap single to short and moved to second on the Cardinals' first error. DePaul took advantage of three Louisville errors in the first inning to plate two runs and jump out to an early 2-0 lead. DePaul (41-12-1, 14-2 in C-USA) capitalized on four Cardinal miscues in the opener to win 4-2, but a pair of errors in the nightcap handed a 5-1 victory to Louisville (37-20, 12-5 in C-USA).įive of the six runs scored in game one were unearned. Combining for nine errors, DePaul and Louisville showed what has vaulted them to first and second respectively in Conference USA only in brief flashes.
